Qualia supports Care Home Open Day

Qualia Care homes are throwing open their doors to the public to celebrate national Care Home Open Day.

Qualia’s five care homes will welcome members of their local communities to the open day on Friday June 16.

The homes will be holding a variety of enjoyable events for all ages, including traditional afternoon tea, bric-a-brac sales and fun games.

“We’re proud of our homes and the vital role they play in their local communities,” says Qualia Care Managing Director, Phil Whitaker.

“Care Home Open Day is our chance to invite people in to our homes so they can spend some time with us, meet our residents and staff, and find out what our homes are all about.”

Duchess Gardens Care Centre in Bingley; Sandycroft Nursing Home and Gilwood Lodge Nursing Home in Blackpool; Washington Lodge Nursing Home in Washington Village; and St Mary’s Nursing Home in Moston are all holding a variety of events on June 16.

Thousands of care homes take part in the UK-wide initiative, welcoming the public and arranging events and activities that help to create lasting links between care home residents and their local communities.

The event also aims to show the excellent work done by care homes, and how they can be at the centre of local communities, developing relationships across the generations.
